TALENT DEVELOPMENT FOR PRODUCTIVITY

Talent is an uncommon natural ability, inborn qualities, traits, characteristics or innate skills that set someone apart from someone else or other people. Development is the process of building, improving, advancing and adding of increasing value to something to make it better. Talent may be inborn or inherited but it can also be cultivated and developed. Talent development is adding value to an individual by building and improving the innate abilities, knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes of people for desired performance objectives of the organization. It is necessary to identify high-potential employees and find ways to maximize their unique strengths and talents for career growth and development.

Developing or refining talents of people is not limited to the design of learning and development (L&D) programmes. Talent development and evaluation of current and future human capital needs and putting in place systems and processes to generate and preserve a pool of talented employees are required to achieve the plans of an organization today and in the future.
