Nigerian Institute of Production Management (NIPM) is the professional regulatory body of production and operations management in Nigeria.

NIPM was founded in 1987 and registered by the Federal Government in 1988. NIPM has been in existence for 35 years during which time it has produced many CEOs, directors, general managers, entrepreneurs, industrialist, consultants, managers and leaders.

Dr. Olaniyi Opanuga, PhD, FNIPM, FCIAM, FIMC, COPOM© is the current President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian Institute of Production Management (NIPM). He is also the Provost and Dean of Postgraduate Studies of the College of Production & Operations Management. Dr. Opanuga who started his career as a factory worker in 1977 in Bata Nigeria Ltd became the Managing Director/Chief Consultant of Optimum Resources Ltd in 1987 after holding several board level, senior and top factory management, human resources, administration, marketing and operations Management positions in both private and public sectors.

Dr. Opanuga who has local and international training and business experience was a former local government chairman.  He consults for top government agencies and multinational organizations with over 100 published works to his credit.
