The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of The Certified Institute of Applied Management And Administration- CIAMA has reiterated the need for Nigerian educational institutions and organisations to emphasize training of skills and building of character of students or trainees for practical purposes in industry.

 

He lamented the high level of graduate unemployment which he linked to academic programmes with little or no practical depth.

 

He said The Certified Institute of Applied Management And Administration- CIAMA was registered by the Federal Government in 2011 to provide opportunities for the development of manpower that is job-ready with the right standards of professional conduct.

 

Director-General of The Certified Institute of Applied Management And Administration, Dr Olaniyi Opanuga has reiterated the importance of Management, Administrative, Entrepreneurial and Leadership Competencies.

 

Dr. Opanuga asserted that Nigeria’s economic potential has been grossly underutilized since its independence in 1960 due to managerial and leadership incompetence.

 

He said no Nation could be greater than the vision and capacity of its leaders and managers.

 

“It takes intelligence and spiritual consciousness to realize that corrupt and unbridled accumulation of wealth to the detriment of the masses which are the products of visionless, greedy, selfish and inept leadership are all vanity.”

 

“Most of our politicians, corporate managers, and administrators need to go back school and the basic ethics and leadership skills” Opanuga declared.
