INTRODUCTION

The oil and gas industry is a critical component of the global energy mix, providing fuel for transportation, power generation, and industrial processes. This presentation will provide an overview of oil and gas production and operations, including the production processes, upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

OVERVIEW

The oil and gas industry is a complex and multifaceted industry that involves the exploration, production, transportation, and refining of crude oil and natural gas. The industry is divided into three main sectors: upstream, midstream, and downstream.

OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION PROCESSES

The oil and gas production process involves the extraction of crude oil and natural gas from underground reservoirs. The process includes:

 

1. Exploration: Identifying potential oil and gas reservoirs through seismic surveys and drilling exploratory wells.
2. Drilling: Drilling wells to access the oil and gas reservoirs.
3. Production: Extracting the oil and gas from the reservoirs through primary, secondary, and tertiary recovery methods.
4. Processing: Separating the oil and gas from impurities and treating them for transportation.

UPSTREAM (EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION) OPERATIONS

Upstream operations involve the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. Key activities include:

 

1. Seismic Surveys: Conducting seismic surveys to identify potential oil and gas reservoirs.
2. Drilling Exploratory Wells: Drilling exploratory to confirm the presence of oil and gas.
3. Developing Oil and Gas Fields: Developing oil and gas fields through the drilling of production wells and the installation of production facilities.
