What is production?
Production means any industrial activity involved in the transformation of resources into finished goods and/or services into finished goods and/or services. Production is anything you do to create value added in the form of products and services that satisfy customer requirements while earning revenue and profit or achieving desired goals and objectives. The implication of production activity is that you need process specific, industry specific and general operational skills.

Operations are the things you do, actions or steps you take and the decisions you make to achieve desired outcomes. Operations are the inner workings of an organization which enable it to achieve maximum efficiency. Note that there are other forms of operations like mathematical, computer or surgical operations. There are government operations, banking operations, manufacturing operations, logistics and supply chain operations, engineering operations, project operations, quality operations, military operations and all kinds of operations.
