Nigerian Institute Of Production Management (NIPM) also referred to as NIPM Nigeria or the association for production, supply chain and operations Management is the veritable advocate to vociferous and leading voice of production and operations management of Nigeria since 1987.
The institute has successfully carved a niche for itself by pioneering the profession, supply chain and operations management in Nigeria and Africa.
The Institute has over the years been partnering with the federal Government, the Organized private sector, educational/research institutions and the general public in order to build and sustain commitment for professionalism in production, supply chain and operations management in the country.
NIPM is a private sector-led, government registered voluntary professional association that has impacted on national development programmes through innovative manpower development programmes in various aspects of production, supply chain and operations management. The undying commitment, agility and residence of the institute have had tremendous impact on the nations economy through a change order and a culture of professional practice. The Production And Operations Management Body Of Knowledge (POMBOK) developed by the institute provide a clear guide for professional education, training and development of all production, supply chain and operations managers, engineers, technologists, supervisors, technicians and workers across Nigerian industrial sectors.
NIPM is richly endowed with manpower and information backed by a solid knowledge management system. NIPM resources include fellows of the institute and present or former CEO’s of world class organizations , senior practitioners , academies and researchers who are always prepared to mentor younger generations both in practice and entrepreneurship or industrial start-up, Institute’s publications dissertations / projects and training manuals. NIPM conducts industrial visitations in industries to entrench current good manufacturing practice (cGMP), improved productivity, quality and safety whole advocating environmental protection, security and sustainability through inspection, assessment against professional standards, recommendations and follow-up evaluation. In this area, the institute has played a significant role in supporting the federal government’s effort in implementing productivity, quality, safety and environmental standards through its various agencies that enforce compliance to laws and regulations.
